Looks Like My Home Town Slapped Down the Village!

On Tuesday, the city (La Crosse) still beat out the rest of the market by at least a quarter point, including Pleasant Prairie, which had the only other bond sale in Wisconsin on Tuesday. “We beat the pants off them,” Pittelman said. The communities have identical credit scores, but La Crosse throws its bonds into the marketplace, whereas Pleasant Prairie seeks out a single buyer.

You have some very misleading information posted. Recheck your facts.

How in the world did that happen???

Nope

Facts look pretty clear to me.

The Village sold their entire issue, so the issue is moot. The fact that some oddjob in Lacrosse thinks it makes a difference that his sold at 9am and PP's sold that afternoon (or whatever the time frame) is irrelevant. If it ever came down to the Village having problems selling their issues, then the discussion would have merit....but until then, it's just silly.

John, would Village save money by putting out on market?

The communities have identical credit scores, but La Crosse throws its bonds into the marketplace, whereas Pleasant Prairie seeks out a single buyer.

The fact is that both municialities are paying the same interest. There is no difference in cost, you are misinformed.
There was a premium that you are not taking into consideration. True interest costs to the village is 3.046% (same as your hometown).

Call Pollocoff or Goesel or anyone of your village board members and they will tell you what the rate is. Why is it that you take someone's statement(who you don't know)as fact, but yet you question and don't believe your own village employees?

Village People said...

Sorry, no Village employee has told me anything.

Ah yes, the Village Comrades have been so truthful in past so we should all believe everything they say. If everything is so hunkydory and truthful, then why is Roscioli running against Allen?

I am actually running because of the so-called "good ol' boys" AND those who tend to disagree with their methodology (including this blog's creator). It's been a slow, drawn out process and I finally decided on last Sunday (no kidding). I've received a great deal of encouragement from residents over the past year and they sealed the deal. Thanks to all who encouraged me!!

I also couldn't tell you word one about the "hunky dory situation" in the Village other than the 2 commissions I'm on.

Run, Rosicioli, Run!

I am...lol.

As to the Village's policy on bond issues....I am lacking in knowledge there. The entire budget will be a learning process for me. That being said, I work in the financial industry, and have a decent handle on economics and influencial factors. Nonetheless, I'll learn every thing I can from department heads and staff.

So how do you plan to distinguish yourself from Allen and the others?

I've already set up appointments with Mike Polocoff and the current VB to discuss several of my ideas. I plan on being vocal and aggressive in KUSD dealings (including the school commission), as well as being decisive yet open in my thought process (something I feel Clyde's missed). I don't know I need to completely differentiate from the Board, as they've been very good for a very long time (obviously some of the parts have changed over the years...but the track record overall is very good). That being said, I feel a fresh and younger vision is a good thing for Pleasant Prairie...as well as someone who'll stick to his/her guns when their opinion differs from the Village status quo.

I've previously spoken with Gene Schulz (Piper Jaffray) and Nick Arnold (former City Planner) on several things, and will not hesitate to use their guidance in economic issues I don't have experience with.

Other than that, I think I've shown myself to have a decent knowledge of the Village's systems to be a good candidate/Board member.

Uh Oh. You might be getting a phone call!

I'd prefer work hours and calls to my office....but I'll return any/all calls.

When do we see your website and positions? What's your theme? What's the name of your PAC? RATS? Roscioli As Trustee Servant! Just kidding. Look out for CHIPS, KOPS, the Truth and all the other misleading PACs. Better get Cooley on your side (no wait, that's Clyde's theme). :-)
