My impressions, numbered and not named. Mike, feel free to name them if you wish.
1) Very underwhelmed. Didn't seem prepared, know much about KUSD other than CDO being a bad thing. 2) Truly impressed. Great prep work, sound knowledge of the job needed to be done. 3) Axe to grind. Sounded thoroughly vindictive, not much else. Missed the chance to explain some interesting ideas by tangential rants. 4) One tune sung, and an extremely defensive one at that..... MONEY MONEY MONEY 5) Great job. Garnered my vote. Great concept of the student and the School Board's duties to HELP THE KIDS. 6) Truly a student advocate. Obviously not as educated as some of the other candidates, but more passion and drive. Seems to have a much better grasp on the cooperative aspects needed to run KUSD.
I'd agree with John's comments. Olson kept talking about more cuts coming too. Axe to grind was evident with former Board member but I think his thoughts on Superintendent are true. He had a chance to explain himslef but couldn't let the truancy/dropout thing go. I still didn't like some of the CDO comments by the current Board members but they handled it fairly well. Too bad it couldn't be settled before we vote. I thought the retired teacher was very good. Youngster was totally caught off guard.
I am currently Property Owner Association President (third three-year term; eight years) for Prairie Trails-West Property Owners Association (PTWPOA). I want to make sure we utilize environmentally sound practices. I want to see the Village government treat all citizens with respect and listen when they bring concerns.

on the subject of school. we need to get the little chubsters into gym class all year instead of a couple months out of the year...health is wealth.
