It's the end of the working class as we know it. The only thing left is the cube farm crowd.
Is it just me or did Obama throw the UAW under the bus?
Pres Obama didn't throw the UAW under the bus. Instead, ECON 101 (aka supply vs demand) threw the whole American auto industry under the bus.
It's just nautral that (relatively) big gas guzzlers would go the way of the 8 track player.
But I could be wrong. I often am.
One thing I don't understand is why is everyone railing against the UAW people for getting upset for losing benefits that were agreed to a long time ago. Is everyone that jealous of people that went into agreements that they are happy to see folks loose in the end? That's the problem with our culture and capitalism. It demands winners and losers. Isn't there enough for everybody? Why must all the wealth belong to a few? To the point that the masses of people actually agree in the end that this system is ok, even if it means denial of basic benefits to people that worked for them. We are a sad lot.

That's the rub with the corporate/capitalist model. It creates a few with all the capital with the only thing they're good at it is accumulating capital. They don't actually create anything other than a system that exploits the ones that actually come up with things and the ones that make them.
Somewhat like a monopoly game, in the end less and leas people with money.
When you get the government bought and paid for by the capitalists, well you see what we get...
