I don't understand why Village would approve any document that is not up to snuff? Are they absolutely sure it won't come back to bite them?
""Pollocoff said Police Chief Brian Wagner and Fire Chief Paul Guilbert also added numerous concerns of their own to the draft. But when the commission asked whether Pollocoff advised rejecting it, Pollocoff recommended approval, thereby sending it to the Village Board.""
“Every community has their own ideas about what to fund or don’t want to fund,” he told the commission. “This will probably wind up on a shelf. Given the inadequacy of this, I’d probably be happy with that.”
Probably???

You really don't know how government works, do you?
Pollocoff sent it up to the Village Board for its consideration. It's not Pollocoff's place to decide on it...that's the Board's job.
So Pollocoff noted the shortcomings of the plan, and sent it along to the Board for consideration.
Looks like government working as it should. But I guess you'd want a dictatorship, eh?
Dope.
But, Anderson added, “I understand where they’re coming from. They have a high level of services and want to make sure that’s not compromised.”
This is what makes their approving it (with reservations) ok. The Village would rather the standards for everyone be as high as their own. I've got no problem with this.
FWIW, I believe Smart Growth will go the way of the dodo.
anonymous; Pollocoff recommended approval, not consideration. I know how things work.
I still say we need to carve on some salaries over at da hall. property tax revenue has to be hurtin. we need to consolidate all these gov levels-village-county-state need to merge into one on the mgmt level. heck, probably get to hire more worker bees after the lard's cut out...
First things first Village People, no matter what Pollocoff says you will take the opposite position.
Secondly, if he Village rejected the Chapter there would be no input from the Village, but then you could blame Pollocoff for that also.
