- I am currently Property Owner Association President (third three-year term; eight years) for Prairie Trails-West Property Owners Association (PTWPOA). I want to make sure we utilize environmentally sound practices. I want to see the Village government treat all citizens with respect and listen when they bring concerns.

I do see lots of tires by the side of the road in PP. Don't they have uses for those tires now? Like grind them up for road surfacing, playground equipment, etc. It seems that you should not have to pay to dispose of them.
I know the turf at Carthage is made up of recycled rubber from tires, shoes, etc. Maybe there is a certain spec on the rubber used?
Any help here chemist?

If you want to be on the Village Board, we expect you to bring answers to these problems, not questions. Do a little research, find out what we can use them for and where we can haul them, how much we'd get paid for them, and so forth.
We need answers, not more questions. Get with the program, please. That's what we'll be asking you to do if we elect you. This is actually a good test of what you could bring to the Village Board.
Know the answers? Then we wouldn't need a Board. Yes, having solutions is fine but who knows it all about such obscure topics. I have no issues with people who ask questions and admit they don't know the answer. I have issues with flip-floppers (and I've struggled with that one once in a while too).
First of all, if you think a public official shouldn't ask questions, but rather "know all the answers," then you shouldn't be voting for me. I WILL ask questions, do research, follow up on things, and represent the residents' needs using any/all resources.
Next time I post something tongue in cheek...I will be sure to note {sarcasm on} prior to the post.
The Village has dealt with issue the best way possible. If there were a way to make it profitable, it would be utilised already.
The chemist post was simply a joke for the blog host's benefit...nothing more.
You missed my point entirely. My point was...anyone can bitch and moan (just ask Alex) and ask any question. Our leaders should be asking questions and bringing answers to the table.
That's what I asked...let's see what your answer to this issue is.

I haven't a better approach. I think if Chief Wagner had better alternatives for the Board (or vice versa), they'd be used. It's obvious this isn't the case. You have great experience in law enforcement with Wagner and Mike Serpe, so to think I'd revolutionize the manner in which it should be policed is naive and borderline ridiculous.
To speak on leadership is easy. I know I AM a leader, and as such have to know when to speak...but when to listen as well. I know in this case, I must defer to experience. Listen to their suggestions and follow through on the results. Doing this will help me learn to deal with similar situations when they come up.
By the way, why throw stones at Alex over this? Is he randomly scattering used tires throughout the Village??? If he's not (and I think we both know he's not), it's a rather petty thing to do.

wow, I said it before and I'll say it again, you'd fit right in down there. you are quite the pompous self righteous one. ready to engage at any time. what are you so angry about.
Well, you might think you are a leader, but we're looking for proof, not Hope and Change.
Again, I'm not trying to be confrontational. I'm simply asking you to either demonstrate or describe your leadership skills and experience.
Self-righteous? No, I didn't say I was infallible. Mistakes will be made, and hopefully learned from.
Pompous? I don't think so. Anyone willing to put themselves out there as a decision maker (Committees, Commissions, Boards, etc) and be judged in hindsight is a leader. It's virtually fact by definition. What type of a leader is up for discussion...and apparently you are ready to cast your lot for my opponent. I commend him for taking the time and making an effort as well.
No anger whatsoever. I am willing to listen, talk, work hard, follow through, whatever I can to continue being a leader in the Village. I encourage all to do the same, come forward, apply for committee/commission seats, and get involved as best they can. To those who are angry, it's engaging...to those who are willing to make an effort, it's about being part of the community. It's obvious you aren't feeling the same way, and that is your perogative.

This is the 3rd time I've posted my number/email address on Mike's blog (thanks again Mike) ...2 phone calls/emails to date. It may not be that definitive "answer", but it allows anyone to get one personally, with a better focus on detail.
Obviously you don't want to commit your positions to writing, because then they can be shown to you when you don't come through later.
Sigh.
It's just a shame that you can't simply answer the question...what's your solution to what we can do with the tires? And what's your solution to preventing the dumping?

I stated that earlier in the thread. If it's solve this this issue or be cast as the poorer candidate...fair enough. It's your choice and it's democracy at work.
Pleasant Prairie has far less resources for public service (fire AND police) vs. similar communities (Caledonia and Mt. Pleasant)... sometimes we as citizens must do what we can to help. Forgive the plagiarism, but "it takes a village" couldn't be more fitting.
I offered my phone/email contact information sincerely. Whether or not you take advantage or not, it's up to you. There aren't motives on my end, other than using this vehicle for residents to contact me.

Simple questions...
If you choose to antagonize, fine. I think anyone with a first grade reading level realizes you have no intention of voting for me...which is fine. You could at least stay on track. This thread was simple and I was honest from the get go...you finish by asking why I'm running with zero answers...love the humor.

I didn't read any antagonism in those questions. Seem reasonable to me.
What's wrong with asking questions of a candidate before you vote for him?
Unlike some others, I don't know who I'll vote for. But I think they're good questions, too.
I find it absolutely amazing that any topic can somehow become a way to attack certain people--particularly those who have run or are running for the Pleasant Prairie board. Or those who support anyone new running for the board. Who are these vindictive anonymous people?
I actually think the irony of it is nobody is "safe" from these attacks. MIke Polocoff, Alex Tiahnybok, John Steinbrink, Mike Serpe, our blog host...you name him/her, some anonymous coward has ripped em a new one for any number of reasons.
Once in the public eye, it's tough if you don't have thick skin. Threads like this prove nothing, other than what a shroud of anonymity can do for one's confidence level.
BTW, still waiting on my first phone call,blog post or email. Apparently nobody has the temerity to ask questions personally...it's unfortunate.

BUT here's my excuses: I work in Milwaukee. I usually wrap up around 5:15ish, get home routinely at 6:30, and Softball and BBall and ....blah blah blah
I admit to being on the selfish side.
Somewhat informed, but selfish.
As for tires, I'm certain that they have to be transported, stored, cleaned and processed before they can be deemed fit for re-use in other products. That processsing is where the costs are.
